Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

OPUS REI

Post by HurQlez03 » Sat Jan 17, 2009 1:06 pm

I know I am gonna get some hate replies for this.

This is a tribute AMV to "Rei, Beyond Her Heart" by Studio606.

This was the best character AMV about Rei on this org. But the older it gets the lesser known it becomes. So I made a updated version so that the AMV is remembered again for its classic showing.

So if you enjoy "Rei, Beyond her Heart", you are gonna love this version: "Opus Rei"

The original clip being one of my favorites Eva AMVs, I checked your remake and sorry I won't change the original for yours.
1) I was expecting a DVD quality for the video.
2) I didn't like your changes. Some effects were just cheesy.

Too bad. I was expecting a remake as good as Engel's or Breath's ones.

In as much bad taste as it is to post this in this thread, I don't suppose you happen to have a link to the engle remake do you?

there's a few of them, but this one is probably the best one (almost a bit by bit clone)
If you do not think so... you will DIE

Are you serious?! The amv IS DVD quality. People have complimented on it. EFX however, are a little cheesy.

Is this a REMASTER or a REMAKE?

From the commentary above, I am unsure. If it is a remake, then I am not sure I am interested. Remastering older videos I approve of, changing them...? Not so much.

Kaysow's remake is the best, as far as Engel is concerned, and I am not saying so merely because I was involved in it. What few bits he has altered are based mostly on higher quality released material, and a few decisions based on less than tight original syncs by Kevin Caldwell. Far from the god status many on the org hail him with, Kevin DID make mistakes, and so Kaysow was trying to anticipate what Kevin would have fixed himself, had he ever done so (also, Kevin was particularly displeased with the work he did on Believe, I remember him being quite overt about it, despite the fact I really, really like it, and always have).
