Thanks Maj! Couple things - you can upload an avatar in the Profile tab of the User Control Panel. It's down at the bottom - you can upload an image, just make sure it's no larger than the limits posted there.

Also, you can only post five images per post - the rest will be turned into links. Check out the rules here.
