Syd Barrett was the original leader of Pink Floyd. But because of his mental state, he was forced to leave the band in 1968, just a few months before their second album A Saucerful of Secrets was released, and he was permanently replaced by his childhood friend, David Gilmour. And Roger Waters had taken over leadership of the band after Syd left. Syd really left a mark on the world, and he made some of the most psychedelic music you could ever hear. Shine on, you crazy diamond. 1946-2006
