Do you edit at work?
Exceptions are Beo, MindWarp, and others that work INSIDE the editing industry.
I bring this up because when I got my MacBook, I, of course, took it to school. Unlike in America, in Japan teachers usually provide their own computers (!), so there was absolutely nothing against me bringing it in. But... you know.... when I don't have classes or papers to grade I usually study Japanese or fiddle with my iPhone.
I decided to go ahead and run some pre-processing on the MacBook while doing other things... I mean, why let the "free" electricity to go to waste, amirite? And even from that, I started collecting an audience- even the Vice Principal wanted to know what I was doing- in a totally interested and no I won't fire you way. Even ended up showing Obamanation to the special needs kids in class (you may recall it is dedicated to my students).
So now I have the go ahead to use any free time I have to edit. And edit I have. I may actually finish Minmay's a Bitch 2.0 sometime this decade.
Anyone else have a job that doesn't care if you edit on the timecard?

I rarely even have my laptop available to me at work, let alone my external drive with all my footage on it. Nor would I even have the time to do it.

Re: Do you edit at work?
I've not done video editing at work, but I have worked on things for my AMVs, graphically-speaking, there/here. Although since I've got XP at work and Vista at home and the latter has decided it can't play certain PS2 movie rips correctly, I may have to resort to creating clips of those courtesy of my employers' PC.
But no, I'm not supposed to be doing any of that. I'm not even supposed to be visiting this site while at work and certainly not downloading anything from it.
You're lucky, Kio, that your employer gave their blessing!

Not the editing, but I actually get most video ideas at work when I go into auto-pilot.

Re: Do you edit at work?
We laid off the video guy last month. So I'm the new video guy.
But I've worked on AMVs after hours when I've had problems with my machine at home.

Re: Do you edit at work?
At my last job i certainly had the time - I spent a good 6 to 8 hours a night doing nothing but hanging out here (12 hour shift). The environment was not conducive to computers surviving, though, so i never dared bring mine in. Where I work now, i wouldn't have the time or the ability to do anything. I'm also pretty sure my laptop would get seized if it came through the door.

Bashar, related, your Narue video is one of the few videos I have shown.
