Dewelopers in languages other than English
I have no idea what this says, but Koop is mentioned, Chii is mentioned, Kevin Caldwell is mentioned, I am mentioned, ErMaC is mentioned, and Ian is mentioned.
Is this Spanish, Italian, Portuguese? Anyone know? It isn't French, I can still read French.

...and Chibiusa wasn't a Pentium II, she was even worse, she was a CELERON.

Re: Dewelopers in languages other than English
If ya google Nimic mai simplu, or Nimic mai neadevarat (small sentence taken from the site), there seems to be quite a bit of websites that end with .ro and if ya google .ro Wiki says it's from Romania. So ya, maybe they're Romanian, or something.

Re: Dewelopers in languages other than English
If I had to guess, I'd say Italian, but then again one of the other posters on that thread has 'Bucaresti' as their location, which I would assume is Bucharest, Romania. And considering Romanian is a Romance language, that would explain the similarities to Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.

Indeed. One of my friends online is Romanian, he's translating piecemeal. Let's just say that... there are lot of historically inaccurate things. I presume the author doesn't read English very well.
He apparently things I am the head admin of the Org.

Re: Dewelopers in languages other than English
It's surely Romanian, yeah, Bucuresti = Bucharest, and the post (or thread) is about how to make a good video, basically a short AMVer/Tech guide (what is codec, basical info about VDM and AviSynth, what to edit in,...).
In the first two paragraph he states that you need patience and time, the third paragraph is TLed here by me/Google and the rest is about technical things
This is the third and last thing I noticed. Many will protest, but as the world's number of AMV editors increases, talent is less important in building AMV than patience and time. For example among Org editors there are very few truly talented. I could count them on fingers of one hand. And the rest *cens'd* VERY MUCH.
You need some talent to make a beautiful thing, but there's one thing set in stone. You can reach the same level of excellence by hard work. Sure, maybe it won't evocate such feelings in a scene inspired by music, but at least you can take the world through the eyes of technical perfection. One of the best testimonies is an invasion of fun video / dance in the world's lately AMVs. They became increasingly popular. I have written in capital letters how the work and technical perfection can make a video popular. Talent can make a good video, but can not guarantee that the video will be as popular as one that contains an explosion of color nonsense and good timing. See the recent "Attack of the Otaku" as a reference. There isn't who-knows-what deep philosophical or dramatic punch, but it's damn fun and well done.
The style began to triumph over substance, form over substance. It's a very sad thing from my point of view but I'd rather not get into a philosophical debate here, I'll talk about AMV sites only.
You have to understand that only time and patience will, in the long run,
It is observed that the third thing I have left after all. Many will protest, but as the world's AMV proves an increasingly more, talent is less important in building links AMV than patience and time. For example on Org editors are very few truly talented. I could to the number of fingers on one hand. Instead the rest MUNCESC VERY MUCH.

You understand that only time and patience will bring you in the long run the same rewards as it brings to the talented.
Of course, there are editors who manage to have both implicitly and impact (and goat and cabbage <= WTF? I guess it's some proverb), and so long as people like, say, Koopiskeva or "deceased" Kevin Caldwell have made and will make videos, history of AMVs will continue.
It's all not guaranteed though :+)

Re: Dewelopers in languages other than English
Dunno why I didn't think of it earlier, but aren't Celerons generally lower-range Pentiums to begin with? I know that I have a Celeron in my setup, but it has the same 'Coppermine' codename that certain Pentium-IIIs did.Kionon wrote:...and Chibiusa wasn't a Pentium II, she was even worse, she was a CELERON.
