I'd say "I am your father" would be a pretty good bet. It might even make sense if you think about it.

It was funny, in the Audio Commentary of the vid, they talked a bit about this. They said that a bunch of people who could read lips could actually make out what he said. Though that's unlikely, since he doesn't really have lips, only a mouth that opens and closes. Then they said he might as well have said "That dress makes you look ugly".

Man I'm glad i watched that Commentary.

HAHAHAHAHA! YOUR AVATAR IS HILARIOUS! Did Fyrt, the cactus licker, see it yet? My guess is, yes. Anyway, I think Gendo wasn't trying to say anything because he didn't open his mouth, and there was definetly nothing to make me think he was struggling to.

If Ritsuko WAS his daughter, well, that'd be disgusting. Anyway, the mouth readers, were they mouth reading in Japanese? Or did the dub studio fool with his mouth movements to throw us off? Hmm... I vote someone gets funny audio and lip synchs Gendo to it.
