Look, I think I went a bit too far in that last post.
So BishounenStalker, before you reply to my totally idiotic commentary up there, I wanna apologise for snapping at you.
Just... try to not make so many assumptions.. it really pissed me off.

Re: Patience is a virtue
Corporate whores or not, they're better than nothing, which was what most FWH (free web hosts) are today. The ads are a necessity. Sponsors aren't going to pay through the <insert preferred orifice> for all the bandwidth and disk space you're using and not get anything out of it. It's the way free hosting works.Ooooooo... Scolded!
Oh wait, I don't care! Fileplanet are corporate whores! THe waiting in line bullshit is just a sales tactic to entice people into buying their personal server service and to view their ad banners!
Then what in the world are you complaining about? If that's the case and you do have access to the paid high-speed servers, then why when I submitted the video I have on FP to you for that "first 10 opinions" thread, you dismissed it due to waiting in line?By the way, I have access to a personal server account that a bunch of my friends all chipped in and paid for because they download a lot of game related files.. so no, I'm not missing out, nor do I have to wait in line.
I've done the same thing, boy. And while the connection is indeed a 56K, I seldom ever connect at full speed because I have to use the university's dialup service. And because the internet access is shared by every single lab on campus save one, my connection is oftentimes SLOWER than a 28.8. But it's free, so for that I'm not complaining too much. You get what you pay for. The point is, you talk like you don't have to put up with dialup anymore. I still do, because I have no other choice. My excuse is that I had to sit on 28.8 dialup for years and years. Guess who downloaded raw episodes of Tenchi GXP, AMVs, mp3s, other assorted anime, games, and a lot more - all on a connection that isn't even half the speed of yours? Oh, it's me.
Shut up.
You don't have to apologize for snapping. It happens.
But I'll apologize anyway, too. Sorry for being bitchy today.

I see
I get both sides of the argument. Personally I'm not lazy and I have broadband, but I had dialup 14k, so I'm not a prick, I had it as bad as it gets, I use to think 12 megs were pretty big amvs. But patience pays off and I have broadband, acually In a month or 2 I'll even get faster connection, yea. Back to using free servers, well its better than nothin, yes it sucks, i'm in the same situation, luckly I have a host, but only for a month, so I have to find a good cheap host ( don't reply with there's no such thing, I've heard it already ). When I get a job I might get better hosting, but for now I can't. Remmember everyone starts from something.
