Well we've never needed more than 8 so that's fine. I have found hacks to get it higher in *Windows*, but I think your server is Linux right? In any case, it doesn't matter if folks don't adopt anyway. I'm perfectly happy with the number if no one else adopts. We never use more than 4.

Yes, but some people get pissy when there are too many people on skype.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who dislikes the large conferences. But still, I my skype, too.

Vent is just fun when your boyfriend is the admin and you get to fuck with his WoW buddies when he's not home. (ie, move them in and out of channels, play "Banana phone" on repeat, etc) But I think that's the extent. "dude ur gf is a bitch, now i remember why i dont have one"

I have to agree with Yue, though. Speaking as an IRC op, that's enough of a pain in the ass; I can't imagine trying to have a spoken conversation with some troll yelling in your ear (and you know there would be trolls, this being the internet and all).

I don't think you read my post b/c a lot of your criticisms aren't valid imo -_-;;. Also unlike skype, only one person can talk at a time in vent so you don't have those incidents where a shitload of people are talking and you can't decipher anything or you just plain get annoyed. Ileia you aren't the only one who hates those large conferences. I hate them too.

Also with a private vent server (which is what I use), it doesn't matter. The only people on are the ones who have the information and password and currently maybe 10 people know that (YES I AM AN ELITIST). Also as I wrote, you need someone to initiate conversations or add anyone. It's just a permanent sever that's always there with multiple channels (including an AFK one).

In short, read my prior reply to Yue or I'll have to shoot you in the leg again .
