Uploading to ftp

Post by Overture » Tue Dec 16, 2008 5:11 pm

arite, so i downloaded my ftp client, and when i put in the ftp address the site gave me, it just goes to a white page with the address in bold on it. the type in username password window never pops up even if i refresh it or anything. i tried canceling my upload and getting a new ftp server username etc. but the same thing. how do i upload my vid to the ftp thingy? also, my vid is an .avi that is like 670,000,000 bytes. is that to big? cuz i think i read somewhere the maximum your vid can be to upload it is like 100mb. so do i have to convert it to something smaller? do i have to delete my vid and upload as a smaller file? sorry, im just learning to use the site:p please help:)

1. it helps to tell us what ftp software you are using
2. unless the video is very long in time then there is no reason that a video should be more than 100mb... Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides it will help you learn how to compress your videos properly.

im using the filezilla client program and my vid is only 3 minutes long. but its also straight out of being rendered from vegas still in .avi format. i also have a converted mpeg version but i converted it to that after i uploaded it to the site already. that one is around 80mb. so i figured maybe thats what people do b4 they upload it to the site.

okay I can't really help you with filezilla but someone on here might be able to give you some tips eventually...

and as for compressing your video heres something more specific:

compress your Video and your Audio OR Compress both in Zarxgui
