Re: AMV Radio v2.0
Don't know the format you'd want to be running with and this is probably the more logical assumption, but would you basically have each guest participating in the show be on their own webcam somehow and you'd be capturing their feed from there? Simpler way would be for the individual guest to record their own and just send you the recording at the end of the show but that would mean work from the guest's end and could dissuade participation. Or maybe you could have simultaneous video conference and you capture what's happening on your screen... hmm...

What she said. I always found most AMV Radios fairly uninteresting and just a wankfest between a handful of people and their inside jokes. Sure some maybe funny, but it just alienates your audiences and well...makes it terribad. Like Jasper said, some of the older interviews were actually quite insightful and well...interesting.jasper-isis wrote:Do it. It'll liven up the place a little.
I think the main thing to keep in mind is to know your audience. If you want to broadcast to the entire site, then you have to focus discussion on stuff that everybody on the site might be interested in, not just the people in the core community. I'd hope for this to encourage people to be more active on this site, rather than scaring them away.
I enjoyed the interviews that were done back on the old AMV radio. Especially ErMaC's, I might still have that one saved somewhere.
If you did something similar to this, I'd actually be interested. If it's more of the same then no thanks. You guys can just talk to each other on IRC no?

since i started listening to podcasts i've been thinking about talking to you about starting up rds/amv radio again but in a podcast format (don't have to do it every week and doesn't have to be done on a certain day and can be edited later). Looks like Mitch beat me to the punch

Having people record their own video streams is of course proffered. But we have to assume that some people are unable to do so thus having both options at our disposal is handy.Infinity Squared wrote:Don't know the format you'd want to be running with and this is probably the more logical assumption, but would you basically have each guest participating in the show be on their own webcam somehow and you'd be capturing their feed from there? I'm personally one for keeping the circle jerking to a bare minimum. And interviews are something I'm sure we all are very heavy on. So I'm sure there will be something for everyone this time around.dwchang wrote:What she said. Currently, the 'new' format will have the following on each episode:jasper-isis + other poeple wrote:Do it. It'll liven up the place a little.

- AMV News
- Video highlights/reviews
- Editor Interview
The point is definitely to capture as much of the community as possible, and involving them as much possible as well. This is why the 'hosts' of the show will be voted on by the audience, so that each show not only involves different editors, but also gives a different look/feel per show. Of course, I'll be conducting the show, and moving things along as needed - but it'll mainly be up to the hosts to provide the content. I'll be working with them to make sure all is working before each show is recorded, and then edited down to about an hour and a half per episode.

An hour and a half? Wow, that's quite a bit of content... not sure how feasible that would be.

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
Remember that this is to be a monthly show.. so the hosts will have a whole month to be drawing content from. Also, previous RDS Radio/TV sessions ran for about the same amount of time. I guess I didn't make it clear, but there will be AMVs (that are being reviewed), or possibly music breaks (music review/ suggestions maybe) during the show as well.Infinity Squared wrote:An hour and a half? Sounds cool.
Would the reviews be talking about a video while showing segments of it, or just a news anchor style?

OMG DO IT IN A RADIO FORMAT (no video) AND HAVE THE MUSIC PLAYING WHILE JAYS GIVES A REAL TIME NARRATIVE OF WHATS HAPPENING IN THE VIDEO!
