As of now, the spot is reserved for an editor that had previously expressed interest in the MEP. If I don't hear from him soon, the spot is up for grabs, but if you know someone that maybe interested in it or if you think you may want it. Let us know either way.

I'll have Twilight update the info with the new info. Also, Twilight, if you see this before I get to talk to you, put in the specs that all footage must be de-interlaced and cleaned/filtered (if needed).

ouch ;.;

TC saw my beta and said my quality was good so D:

I'm not trying to question your judgement, but this was a fair call right? I mean, I usually send low quality video as betas so that they don't take long to download.

She and I had a discussion about it. She didnt know what interlace meant, the footage was downloaded, and we had to have a discussion about why video quality is important in an AMV. I didn't drop right off the bat. Twilight and I discussed it. The quality wasnt low because it was a beta. It was low because she is new to the technical/quality aspects of AMVs. I'm all for helping people, but I'm coordinating this MEP. I'm not here to teach. I ended the conversation with giving her the AMVapp with a couple of guides here from the org to look over.

As for sending lower quality for betas: I don't expect people to be sending in lossless files (I dont want them to either), but if I get something low quality, I'll end up worrying that you may not know how to encode things properly and I question what the quality of your original source. I realize that we're getting people sending beta's as they progress in editing and I understand that you may not want to have to encode an MP4 every single time, but your quality should still be within reason. I'm going to talk to Twilight about what we want exactly for these casual betas and the first full beta deadline. I know I prefer MP4 & Xvid.

Ok, that seems like a rather fair call to me.

As for the deadlines for betas (I'm not talking about quality here), I'm unfamiliar with sending betas at specific times (like first beta, second beta), as I haven't done that before. I know its to make sure that we're doing our tracks, but is there a requirement for each beta? like percentage complete or something?

*LE GASP!!!* MUTINY!! XD I could swear you were Co-coordinator. Haha. Also, I hope she wasn't offended by getting the boot from the MEP.

I also want to clarify, that now due to this, the final track is open again. I have a couple of editors who are interested. SO, it shouldn't be empty long. If it stays empty for too long though, one of us will probably have to wind up picking it up. Hmmm, also this brings another thing to mind: If you are going to be a part of this MEP, you must know what you are doing with your video quality, and must know the lingo and have the skills to go with it. I'm all for welcoming newbies from the tube, but they must all know how to filter their footage and what not. I'm all for giving new editors a chance, and again, the same rule applies. Also, when you send in your beta's, make sure they are of acceptable quality.....NO, they don't have to be uber high quality...they are beta's after all, just make sure when you send in the beta, the quality is within reason...nothing dirty, grimy or nasty.

Also, to SF-Phoenix: In regards to beta's and when to turn in...for right now, it's whenever we ask to see your progress. To give you an example of when we will ask...we will probably ask for progress reports every other day or so, but will ask for a beta maybe every two or three weeks. I hope that clarifies it up.

Also, don't let the "Littlest Atari" scare you. Co-Coordinators must take up all their concerns with the Main Coordinator "Me" before anything is done XD Serious though..."LittleAtari" is doing a damn good job as Co-coordinator so far XD *LittleAtari get's a cookie.*

Also, an update on that beta tweak: It's almost done.....I will warn you...it really picks up...At the part where it says CascadaThon, it's still a little flashy, but it's not as bland anymore. I got rid of some of the lip sync, but kept a couple instances of it in. The transitions between scenes are also much tighter, and flow more smoothly into each other. I'm working out a couple of more tweaks at the moment and should have a beta for you all shortly. XD
