Anime on Broadway

I dunno, I guess it's just a strange musing from my twisted mind, but I've been toying with the idea of doing MVs of various anime to Broadway hits. Sort of a series of them.

Examples:

Utena -- "Do You Hear the People Sing?" -- Les Misérables
Evangelion -- "Jesus Christ Superstar" -- Jesus Christ Superstar
Various anime neko girls -- "Jellicle Ball" -- Cats
Gundam Wing (Treize/Une specifically) "Phantom of the Opera" -- Phantom o the Opera

Those are some of the ideas running through my head. What do you all think?

I know that "One day more" from Les Mis has already bean done with Macross. Very good job, although I disagree with their choice for Javert. I'm listening to superstar right now, and I can see having a lot of fun with that video. This is a stretch and would need a lot of work, but use Gethsemane with "Ah! My goddess" or with "Love Hina." Doesn't exactly fit the mood of the song, but the lyrics could match if you tried.

As to using "Do you here the people sing" you actually have two versions to use to set the mood. You can use the actuall song for a martial and struggling theme, or you can use "Finale" for a more victorious theme.

I know! I saw that "One Day More" video once and loved it. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore

The "One Day More" is made by Anthony Bennet, if you have a fast internet connection I can send it to you but you will have to wait a week since I leave tommorow morning for thanksgiving, I would imagine it being on Tony's site though. As for teh song choices, ironically I was thinking of doing a vid to Jesus Christ Superstar myself and also some stuff from West Side Story. Personally I find musicals to have very diverse music that leaves them wide open for AMVs but sadly not enough people use them.
