I'm fairly new here, and trying to not burn too many people right off the bat... and I found out that you....tube....is not liked here. Which is fine, I have no problems with that...but has anyone else looked at yahoo video? They have a higher bit rate and the video playback is awesome for a streaming site. I can't seem to figure out the sound though (it could be my computer- been having problems with it), but audio playback sounds different too. It doesn't seem to have the networking like youtube, but who has time for all that anyways?

OIC, and at risk: may I ask why? I'll be a good girl and not play taboo too often (life has to have some kinkiness to it rofl), but I'm just curious. Is it the lack of general quality? I know when I actually take time to surf you===tube or etc I see maybe one good AMV for every 10, and maybe one mediocre one for every 5. Is it the legal issues arising all over the net? Or maybe?

Part of it is due to the quality - several people here are quality whores... (to put it mildly), another part is drama caused by people "over there stealing mah amvs" and there's nothing the mods can do about it.... then there's the legal issues behind it, and the fact our site doesn't want to encourage people to break the TOS of another site.

oh yea and - we also have people who like to announce their tube videos here and not enter their videos into the catalog, and that kinda smells of spamming :/

i think most people are aware of yahoo videos, it's just that ytube has a winder audience so if you want more exposure go there, if you want your vids in high quality and a community who can appreciate them you post them here.

there are lots of people who upload their vids to several places, i used to only upload mine here but kept seeing my vids popping up on ytube so i made my own account there to set people straight on who really made them. but i dislike watching amvs on streaming sites as the quality is usually poor and sometimes the sync gets messed up (which is horrible on vids that rely on sync).

At first I found AMVs on You....tube only, and then later found this site. I can see why it's frowned upon, and I'll leave it at that. Yahoo video encodes at a higher bit rate or whatever the technical thingy is...I'm still learning. so the video quality is actually very good for a streaming site. And no one watches it, you are right. lol. But that's ok, I'm slowly learning my way around here. I think I'll have to stop in here for a while at least once a week, and browse through a couple times a week. Just like my DA account, all in good time. lol.
