Yea, unfortunately it does happen. All it means really is that they simply dont care and there isnt much you can do about it. I met someone on a webcomic forum that makes AMVs and actually has an account here. I talked to him about how he should try adding sync to his videos and little bit of effects to spice things up. He flat out told me that he really doesnt care. He makes AMVs because he just feels like putting "an awesome anime to awesome music" and I didnt argue with him because I knew that he had seen good AMVs and that he just chooses to edit the way he does because he finds fun in the way that he edits. As much as I hate the "awesome anime with awesome music" and nothing else formula, I just remind myself that for the editor it's all about having fun and I cant really define what fun is for some people.JaddziaDax wrote:thats all well and good until you see a newb with potential and you have told them 100 times that they should crop the subs (or other advice) and they still don't do it..
i usually find those people not worth even trying with, and stop watching their videos.
It kind of sucks when you compare it to hard working editors here on the Org, but that is what we choose for ourselves. It's unfortunate cuz I'd like to see more great editors emerge and see more of a dominance of AMVs like the ones made in here out there in the rest of AMV community.
