Vista. turn .txt = .avs?
Forgive me if this was posted before i dint a quick skim and didnt see anything.
On windows XP i could simply rename the .txt file .avs and it would turn into and AVS file. and vice versa.
doesnt seem to be happening with windows vista. any tips?
im sure ill run into more problems but i cant even get there without a AVS file with correct code. and i cant change the code if i cant change the file D=

Well, if you are trying to rename the file, you need to make sure you have "Hide extensions for known file types" unchecked. Otherwise, you are just renaming the file and not touching the extension.
I instead of creating it in notepad or whatever, just use the right-click and new file option. I believe when installing AviSynth that was an option. It's also not hard to make either.

Dunno if it's in the same spot in Vista. (I refuse to let Vista touch any of my equipment.)

Well, the specific method in XP would be:
1) Open up My Computer
2) Go to the Tools menu
3) Select "Folder Options..."
4) In the window that appears, go to the tab called "View"
5) In the list of options, deselect (uncheck) "Hide extensions for known file types"
6) Press OK
Maybe you can use that information to find the option in Vista.
