Kamelot (Interest Gauge)

Post by EvaFan » Tue Oct 28, 2008 1:32 pm

While Dragonforce wasn't extremely successful... There was still a lot of people who liked it. I had fun organizing it and I learned alot. Now I'm back with more interest in the power metal genre.

Kamelot has been one of my favorites for a while now. I'm curious as to if anyone else would be interested.

The timeline would be around 10 minutes again. Probably closer to 8 minutes. I'd like to use around 6-8 songs, however, I don't want to choose them all so if your interested please post what songs you'd like to see in the (1st)MEP.

It would be around 6-10 editors same # as songs unless I create 2 tracks from the same song.

The only restriction I would impose on you this time is "No Hentai". There will be no action only restriction. I won't compell you to only worry about flow and internal sync either, however, I won't accept it still if it's horrid.

All right, on with the questions for interested people:

What songs would you like to see in the Mep?

Would you like instrumental tracks only? Lyrical tracks only? Combination of both?
My opinion on this subject is a combination of both. Some of the songs the singer does a really good job and the lyrics are overwhelming.

Lastly if you have any other comments or questions. Now’s the time to get em sorted out before if and when the mep starts.

I won’t be starting this MEP any time soon. I'll probably end up starting it around january. I'm leniant with time but I won't be so forgiving when it comes to deadlines this time. I'm just trying to get stuff sorted out right now as to how it will happen if it does.

So what say you power metal mongrels?
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

I would be interested in a kamelot mep.

Also, I think a good balance of lyrical songs and instrumental songs is a good idea.

Im also interested in this project.

Mmm the first idea that comes to my mind would be songs like Forever from Karma album, and March of Mephisto from the Black Halo (also maybe When the lights are down from the same album).

Anyhow, good idea with the MEP.

I like kamelot and would be willing to do another track for one of your metal MEPs if you'd be so kind as to have me.

I'm definitely interested in this, but the only problem is I can't really edit anything before summer. I'm fine with any song you throw in, although I would really love to edit to The Haunting. I always wanted to use that song.

Combination of both for sure.

Even if I don't get to participate, I'm looking forward to this

I'd say mix lyrical and musical.. or just lyrical, but not another just musical. It was fine for a dragonforce MEP.. and for one time, but it's good to mix it up a bit.

All right! It's good to see enthusiasts!

Ok. Since I don't want to refuse people. I may increase the timeline size and amount of tracks.

I'd like people to post the top 3 songs they would like to see in the MEP and the song they would like to edit to the most in the first slot.

Post a comment next to a song if there's a reason you are sugguesting it. Helps me for consideration.

Example heres mine (Edited):

Songs:
1. When The Lights Are Down (Remember the first track is the one you'd like to edit most. As the coordinator i'll let other people have first takings on songs before I pick mine. Don't let this bother you if you plan to edit to this song.)
2. Forever
3. Lost and Damned (Good instrumental bits)
