Ok, after trying Vegas 8.1 out for a while I determined that it isn't quite ready. I kept running into bugs and crashes. It was especially buggy for me when working on HD projects. Tried working with and encoding to many different formats and it just kept barfing. I'm now trying 8.0c on my 64-bit and seem to be fine. Darn, I was hoping it would work well
