BFrame Decoder Lag

Post by Vax » Sat Oct 11, 2008 11:17 am

This message is coming up on all of my footage. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Don't use XviD for source footage? (couldn't resist)

Just either A) update the XviD to the latest version or B) ditch XviD for decoding entirely and use ffdshow. More than likely the latter, as I stopped using XviD itself for decoding ages ago and don't know if they really modified that warning or not. I think it changed to just being a black frame which may or may not go undetected, depending on how the video starts out.

XVID is the "free equivalent" to DIVX...

it's a decompresser you use it by setting it up for the codecs you don't have, if its running for codecs you do have then you should either

1. remove those codecs from your computer or
2. disable ffdshow from playing those codecs

or else you may have some system issues... (like Explorer crashing)

so you would want to uninstall DIVX/XVID and install ffdshow and make sure it's set up to decompress for those codecs, and that's about all you do with it.

the easiest way to deal with that splash screen is to just clip around it >.>
