*Red Wolf HATES databases*

Besides, the way things are set up right now requests are being processed strickly through USPS and email. The request process starts when I received blanks in the mail so there is little electronic interaction besides me emailing the requestor and updating the stats sheet so updating a database, at this point, would be a lot more work. Perhaps when and if things get bigger and busier.

Shinto, check your PM. Feel free to shoot me an email every few weeks requesting the stats on your CD since you don't have Excel.

Um, how is what I'm doing any "more wrong" than you offering your AMVs for download? If you are refering to the CDs listed on the catalog being the works of other creators then you should read through the site again. Every CD on that catalog was either granted permission by the creator or was submitted to the AMV Distribution Center for the expressed purpose of distribution.

Again, he should read through the web site. There is absolutely no money exchange whatsoever. People send me the CDs and postage needed to burn the CDs and send them back. The requester does cover the cost of the service, namely the CDs and postage, but they do all of that on their end with the post office and their local CD reseller. All I ever see are blank CDs and stamps. I send back the exact same CDs (unless one screws up during the burn in which case I send them on of my CDs, which I purposed with my money, because I'm a nice guy) with their envelope and postage. Aside from bad burns the process only costs me time, not money. Therefore I simply ask for patience in getting the CDs back, not money.

I apologize for the repeated rant on what we do and don't do but I really don't want people to get a bad impression on the AMV Distribution Center. I welcome comments, good and bad, but when someone posts publicly that we are doing a major wrong to the AMV community without going through the site or confronting me privately I tend to get defensive. I'm not saying that's right, just saying it happens.

And again, leathelanime, if you have an issue that we haven't covered let me know so we can discuss it.

Banner

I would like a banner that I can put on my web page to link to the AMV Distributor. I may even put it in my signature.

Logos are currently being worked on. Once those are done it will be a quick process to get a banner made and available to anyone wanting a copy.

How about this for an idea: Putting up an "amount ordered" number beside the CD's to see which CD's are popular and all, just an idea.

The AMV Distribution Center site is being updated as I type. In addition to basic changes we have added information on how people outside of the USA can request CDs.

http://homepage.mac.com/red_wolf/reques ... ernational

A new CD has also been added to the catalog: AMVs of Vlad G. Pohnert - Summer 2002. This brings the total number of CDs (including the double CD sets) to 29 so we are fast approaching another nicely round number.

I'm currently reviewing some cool logo ideas from Chaos Angel (I'll email you soon, I swear) so look for some banners in the near future.

Paul Kievits, I don't like the idea of showing popularity to the general public. The creators on the catalog do get stats on how their CDs are doing but right now I'd rather not make that information public.
