The first ever Mutli-Editor Iron Chef competition. First and foremost, let's explain the rules.
1) Each contestant must sign on with the intention of doing each competition. If something comes up, please make sure to contact me in time so that arrangements can be made for your case. PM'ing me with one hour before deadline saying "I can't finish" isn't going to cut it.
2) Each contestant must agree and abide by rules set forth by both this contest and Animemusicvideos.org. Any violations will result in disqualification.
3) Each round will have a certain number of contestants that will be eliminated. The contestants with the lowest scores or who do not participate will be. To clear any confusion, this isn't a one-on-one format. Each and every one of you will be fighting against each other for the top. The editor with the highest score at the end of the competition will have immunity from being eliminated from the next competition, and does not have to participate if they do not wish to.
4) Each round's competition will have a theme. It is the duty of the editor to eximplify that theme to the best of their abilities. Remember, a theme can be both a literal one or a metaphorical one.
5) Editors will have a certain amount of time for each competition. With the competitions I've arranged so far, it ranges from one week to two weeks for editing time. If you need extra editing time or are having issues regarding exporting/uploading/sending, again, please inform me ahead of time so I can make arrangements. I want to give everyone a fair chance at this, but I understand as an editor that things can go seriously wrong. So a courtesty PM would be nice.
6) Editors will send their finished projects in HIGH QUALITY form. Send it to me like you would be uploading it to the a-m-v.org server. This means I request either a MP4 or AVI with varying codecs that work for you. Editors also need to send me a Huffyyuv or Lagarith version of their project to me. These do not have to be sent by the deadline, but must be sent before the competition itself is over.
7) Rounds will be judged accordingly:
Technical = 10% (Video quality, aspect ratio, ect)
Execution of Theme = 20% (How well the video fit the theme)
Originality =10% (How original the video was)
Editing = 50% (How well edited it was ; Sync)
Judge's Opinion = 10% (How well the judges liked it ; no bias based on who edited what ; videos will not be named when sent to judges)
8) Each round will have the following eliminations
Round 1) 16 Editors ; 2 Eliminations
Round 2) 14 Editors ; 2 Elminations
Round 3) 12 Editors ; 3 Eliminations
Round 4) 9 Editors ; 3 Eliminations
Round 5) 6 Editors ; 2 Eliminations
Round 6) 4 Editors ; 1 Elimination
Finals 3 Editors ; 2 Eliminations ; Winner Announced
(Note: YEs, I know that it seems like a weird number of elimintions. Let me just say that it is because of the competition's themes in those rounds
)9) Source/Audio Information is simple. You pick whatever you want. However, keep in mind that it should fit the theme. Also, because this will be hosted on the org at one point or another, no nudity or excessive violence. Using hentai or overly violent footage is fine, but no use of the actual overly violent/sexual themes. For example, Elfin Lied is fine, just don't show off Lucy's boobs or the scenes of decapitation.
10) Final words I suppose. I want people to have fun with this. However, if you feel like you wish to drop out of the competition, then that is fine. I will be asking for backup editors to take spots if somebody wishes to drop.
