Project Editor (Intrest Gauge)
Ok, so you guys might or might not have seen the television series "Project Runway". So let me explain a little bit.
It's a reality television series for fashion designers. It starts with roughly 16 contestants. Each week, they compete in a challenge around some random theme (ranging from Flowers, fellow designers, eye colors, ect.). Each week, one person wins the competition (and gets immunity the next round) and one person will "go home".
So I was thinking... Why not do this with AMV's? I was thinking while watching the "almost finale" of Project Runway....
So let's talk what the project would entail..
16 (or more if we get enough interested) contestants.
3 Judges (Not including myself)
13 Weeks
1 Finals Round
Lots of Fun?
?????
Profit!
So basically, we would take 13 weeks and have a challenge each week that editors would have one week to complete editing wise. Because it would be a hard task to accomplish in thirteen weeks directly in a row, I would probably have one week off inbetween, because we all have things to attend to. Including myself, we would have three other judges that would judge the entries. Highest score wins and gets immunity from being taken out of the competition the following week. Lowest score gets kicked out. Me and the fellow judges would decide the competition each week. For example, one competition would be... "Create an AMV based on your favorite Color". Now this doesn't mean just to make an AMV and overlay a color on the top of it. It would mean being creative with your work.
Because this is a competition, technical information would be up to the individual editors. But when compiled (probably weekly-biweekly ; and released on the announcments forums), it would be a 640x480, 4:3 AR, and I'd ask that all editors work around that. I'd expect editors to send in an AVI or MP4 of their work (to be judged) and a final version uncompressed, huffyyuv or lagarith encoded. Time limit would be a very strict 1:00 - 1:30.
No anime or audio restrictions (unless the competition declares so).
So, now I ask. Who might be interested in this? Or am I just insane to even envision such an atrocity. |:

I might be interested, but three things kinda bug me...
My lack of HDD space (which might get better, though, with ZnT s3 ending, yay, DVDs!)...
My lack of actual footage... Spending three days out of seven trying to get RAWs... you get it ;___;
And the uploading of uncompressed version. That is almost impossible for me within that time limit. Considering the time, it might be around 1-2GB, which is about approximately over a day with my UL speed ;____;
Nice idea, though.
(hmmmm, a green AMV)

If you're really interested, I can make a few exceptions regarding uncompressed version. I did say you can use huffy/lagarith compressions though. My editor can edit with MP4, so if that's an issue it can be resolved.Nya-chan Production wrote:I might be interested, but three things kinda bug me...

@Ghet: Perhaps. Let's see how things work out first though.
