Premiere Pro 1.5 render problems

Post by Immorrel » Fri Sep 26, 2008 9:30 pm

I'm currently experimenting with AVS scripts in Premiere and have everything working (finally) but when I put a segment on the timeline I'm unable to render that segment into something that is viewable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By rendering out do you mean preview rendering or exporting the whole project?

preview render. I hit enter and it just starts from the beginning without rendering anything.

What I do to force Premiere to render ANYTHING in the timeline is to create a blank video and stick it in the upper most track on your timeline and have it cover the whole span of the project. Then change the opacity to 0. Now when you put anything into the timeline

Like this

you should be able to get Premiere to render.

Aside from that, I never had any luck with straight AVS files in Premiere. I have found that converting them to fake AVI files using VFAPIConv has alleviated most if not all the problems I've had with AVS files in Premiere.

Now for the stupid question, how do you make a "blank" AVI?

Or File->New->Black Video.

Basically you can make it anything.

Ok, new problem now. I can render but it still isn't rendering the stuff I put on the timeline. It only renders the black video I have on there, it notices that there is something there where the AVS clip is, but it doesn't do anything with it. Thanks in advance for any more help you can provide.

Did you remember to set the blank video to 0% opacity?

yup, I also moved it to the bottom video line so that everything was "on top" of it just in case the opacity was being stupid. Still no love.
