:P Yea you shouldn't download becuz they are mostly ripped in a weird way and the outcome of the footage when your done editing isn't great at all. like Kariudo said: "you can't get gold from putting in trash" very true. I don't have money either so i asked the hell of my parents to get me netflix and walla! so i rip and burn me copies.

First of all...
She. I'm a she. A girl. A female. Not a "he" "him" or "it".

And also, I had the footage. My external hard drive crashed and got a virus that wormed its way from the internet to my main hard drive to my EHD. Not until a day or so after I had joined the MEPs did I realize that files were corrupt after removing the virus.

As for jobs...I'm in school. High school. With all the honors courses available. I can't get a job, not just because of my mom. My mom would absolutely love it if I got a job. I'm 13, so I can get a worker's permit from my school, but...no time = no job.

Netflix? Out-of-the-question. We have absolutely no money to spare (which is why I can't just buy the DVDs). Tuition takes a huge chunk out of mom's savings account, dad isn't exactly helping to pay, and our Christmas Present fund is going down $100 per day because of the stock market going all to hell.

I know you probably didn't need to know all of this, but it helps prevent further confusion or assumptions if you thought that my mom was just a stingy old woman. Which I'm not saying she isn't, but...you know. She is, but she's a nice stingy old woman. If that's possible.

I agree with the ethical stand as always, but quality is hit or miss. A lot of groups go through great lengths to make their stuff look as nice as we do (by filtering and whatnot). I actually have several soft-subbed series that look way better than any DVD I've ever encountered.

Also, to the OP's reply while I was typing - we don't give a shit about your personal life. Boilerplate ethical standards, etc. etc. - In short, your plight does not make a difference to the response you're going to get. We, on the forum, go through these same conversations over and over. If you're going to do it - don't talk about it, don't ask about it, don't expect people to go "oh, well, that's different - clearly your situation excuses any conflict with our site's ethical code." Just don't bring it up and everything is cool.

gender issues aside... I'm not going to bother with that, cause this is the internet and there are no girls on the internet.

did you even read the rest of my post or did you jump down my throat about me mentioning a job before you finished it?... as I have suggested to many teens and pre-teens around here that if they really want something they will find a way to make the money to get it...

you can still find time to mow a neighbors lawn, advanced courses even, there is still an hour or two a day to do something like that.... it will just cut into your "editing time" or other free time, thats life, welcome to the "real world". I'm "old" I'm speaking from experience here...

The fact that you mention the stock market and tuition makes it seem you don't exactly come from a lower class household so it's not like you are starving or living out of your car with only your precious laptop the only piece of technology your parent's allowed you to keep instead of selling it off for food. also it seems you have the luxury of the internet as well and the fact you guys have $100 a day for christmas (even to lose) seems amazing to me...

and sob stories about meps and not being able to make deadlines make me laugh, if you can't make the mep then drop out.. it's just a video project not the end of the world.

I'm going to ignore your gender-comment. Or, lack thereof.

Don't worry, I read your post; I am also reading that one.

As for my free time...? What are you talking about. I have maybe one hour per weekend to edit. Honors courses imply homework upon homework upon homework. It also doesn't help that I don't usually get home until around six in the evening and then mom makes me eat dinner for two hours, then I have four hours of homework which is impossible to finish before nine-thirty when my mom takes everything that is possible to use for outside-communication out of my room, turns the lights off, and expects me to sleep. The loss of a lock on my door also means that I can't turn a light on, lock my door, and finish my homework. Thus, I am left to try and get straight-A's or my mom will beat the crap out of me (literally) when I don't even know the answers to the homework.

And for my financial situation? The $100 dollar Christmas fund is because mom bought stocks in companies a long time ago and they just grew...now they're failing again. If the economy gets any worse, we will be living out on the streets. Laptop? Did you say laptop? We don't have a laptop. The only working computers in our house is our desktop which gets internet from our cable provider because it's free with our TV service, which isn't that great either.

Sob story? End of the world? Trust me, if you think you're "old", even though this body is 13, I feel that I'm "older" than others because even adults do dumber things than I do. Adults get into bigger messes. Adults are more immature. They complain, they whine, and it's all so
Spoiler :
fucking
annoying! I'd prefer not dropping from the MEP because it's just about the only fun thing in my life at this point (everything else doesn't suck, per se, it's just boring). Therefore, I'm making a big deal about it. I don't want my life to be totally boring again...it wasn't a very good thing for me.

I apologize if I seem to be coming off as some whiny, immature, hormone-plagued n00b that can try to call "itself" (seeing as there "are no girls on the internet") a teenager.

Erm...double-post for the fail...?

Read the second one unless you just wasted your time reading both of them. The first one is wrong.
