Can you or can you not submit an AMV for a convention contest without actually attending the convention?

Usually, yes, but you should always read the rules of each contest. I know that some have different rules for whether you are attending or not. AAC will let you submit a third video only if you attend; if you fail to attend, that video is disqualified.
