To that end, from what I heard, I'd contend in a non-subjective way that, at least from the pieces I heard, Merzbow is not music, but rather noise.

Well I haven't checked out Merzbow myself, but it's on my to-check list...
Anyway I heard Merzbow is just noise, but so? Hitting some drums with your sticks or hitting strings on your guitar is not noise?

Anyway last time I was in the store and I went up the escalator, then I heard something cool... I thought it was some kind of ambient music, thus I looked up to the speakers... but there where non... I needed a few secs to realise that what I was hearing was actually the escalator which was grinding somewhere... it was actually beautiful and relaxing...
Why some bands use vacuum cleaners for their music got much clearer to me that day xD

Kai Stromler used to maintain a list of metal videos, although he's moved on from AMV fandom - but I assure you, it was a damned long list. Just search videos by artists. If you already have - the problem is most likely not the fact that there's no metal videos, the problem is that your definition of metal is actually just a reference to a narrower set of bands you listen to, and when you don't find them you get pissed off because there's "no metal".
