Premier Pro, Huffyuv, ffdshow, madness!

Post by Ayushima » Sun Aug 31, 2008 3:13 pm

I have the most recent version of AMVapp and Huffyuv codec, however whenever I make a clip compressed with huffyuv, Adobe Premier Pro freezes and shuts down. In the past it has worked fine, so I do not know what's wrong. It works with uncompressed but its too huge, at the very least i need huffyuv.

The thing is on a different computer this huffyuv codec works fine in premiere pro.

I also have the usual Premiere Pro problem of certain files showing up black in the timeline but from what I've seen I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with frame rate, but the thing that baffles me is that, again, this problem doesn't come up with a different computer.

I've had thought to believe that ffdshow somehow had the power the mess up other codecs, but I need ffdshow to load certain files into Virtualdub.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

go into the ffdshow config (video and audio) and disable support for any codecs that you already have (like huffy) instead of leaving it on libavcodec.

as for the black clips, those are probably divx/xvid files. A quick forum search should turn up plenty of topics and solutions

this'll probably sound stupid but I can't find anywhere under ffd configuration that shows support for other codecs
