Looks pretty good. Once you have a full build put together I will test it out on the quad-Macs at school. Is it safe to assume that this will only work on Intel-based Macs? Or just any OS X build?
Also, you say that you're working with AVS. Does that mean that there'll need to be new AVS Import plug-ins for Premiere and FCP?

Crossover is a WINE derivative, which means it's a windows emulator of sorts (although in fact WINE stands for WINE Is Not A Windows Emulator). According to Crossover's own documentation, it will only run on Intel-based Macs. I have a PPC as well, so I'll test it out, but I see no reason that Crossover would be mistaken.Brad wrote:Looks pretty good. At this time, I don't have an answer to the question. Experience thus far tells me a new premiere plugin should not be needed, that the old one should call AVS the same way as it does on windows, but a way to implement AVS for FCP would indeed need to be created. When I am at that testing point, I will update everyone. Also, you say that you're working with AVS. Does that mean that there'll need to be new AVS Import plug-ins for Premiere and FCP?

If you hold up, I'll place them in a .dmg, still trying to figure out the plugin issue.JudgeHolden wrote:Links to said programs?
Crossover can be found here.
Just install AMVApp is you normally would; except for the AVS Premiere plugin. It apparently is not in the proper format for use with Mac Premiere.

As I mentioned to brad, The only way you could get avisynth support in FCP would be if there was already a working avisynth in mac osx already... otherwise, it wouldn't work anyway.
The only foreseeable way it could remotely work is if you make a plugin that talks to crossover and can load the aviysnth library... but I don't think you can do that. I've never looked at the source code (maybe i should) for the avs plugin so I don't even know how that one works...

yea... are you using the 6.5 plugin and not the pro one?BarackObama wrote:Well, I tried 6.5, but it did not work. Tells me it failed to load avisynth.dll, please reinstall avisynth. Do you think I should?
I looked at the source code (really old version of it) and it actually looks pretty simple.
