DO NOT send - Low Quality Xvid, Low Quality DivX, H.264, RM, WMV, ASF, OGM, MKV, MOV, MP4 or DVD's in DVD video format with menu's.
this is really hindering my desire to enter... i've been redoing all my stuff in x264 to increase the quality and shrink the file size.
If you only have your AMV in a non acceptable format you may use the Forums to request prior approval.
may i submit in mp4?

The reason for this rule is I need VFW codecs that can be easily converted to DVD for screening.

MP4 is OK as long as its compatible with Quicktime so I can convert it out into MPEG2.

I will be attending NDK this weekend and will be unavailable from the 11th-15th because I will be commuting from SLC, Ut to Denver, Co. I will verify all entries I receive when I return.

I'm still short on AMV's so please keep sending your work.

In regards to the file format issue, I will accept any format that is VFW/Quicktime friendly. As previously posted all entries will be converted to DVD for screening so I need conversion friendly formats. In the future when we get better projectors I will be changing the submission format rules and be using a computer, but that's in the future.
Still, the equipment we do have still looks great on 20ft screens. We should have 2 this year.

Best of luck to those who entered the NDK contest, I can't wait to see your work.
Oh, if you havent already, enter our contest

Just got back from NDK and the AMV contest was great. I was able to talk in person to a bunch of creators at NDK and it was nice to see your work.

Sadly I have not received any new entries over the 5 days I was gone.

Common guys!

I know we are a new con and some of you only submit to cons you like, but take a minute and help out the new guy. Help us grow and become one of those conventions everybody wants to submit AMV's to.

For those who are not liking my format rules, submit anyway, I'll find a way for it to work even if I have to fork over my own cash to rent newer projectors so I can use my computer.
I will make this AMV contest our best ever even If I go nuts in the process.

I could convince one of my friends to enter as well. I would like to help more, but I already sent in my two entries.
