Need suggestions for cleaning

Post by Jenya » Wed Aug 20, 2008 5:07 am

Sorry for all the bother. I really am trying, but that Avisynth guide is like greek to me. Anyhow, I've got a the opening clip from Wild Arms that I ripped with PSmplay. It's pretty bad looking. I'm still new at looking and knowing what to fix on a clip, but I assume that it's got plenty of mosquito noise to start. It probably also needs to be brightened a bit and the color adjusted. I at least managed to resize it and change the framerate from 15 to the 24. I'll try to post some screenshots later. For some reason, the ones I tried had weird color problems.

The weird color problems might have been caused by wrong colorspace convertions.
To remove the mosquito noise use removegrain() and to increase the brightness use tweak(bright=2) (increase the number to increase the brightness, decreasing it would do the opposite). Color adjustment... do you mean this?
Hope this helps.

fluxsmoothST() has worked well for getting rid of mosquito noise in my experience

okay, I'm making a bit of progress, just would like some feedback.

So here's the original image with just framerate and resize changes.

Sorry, meant to do more with that.

Anyhow, this one is with the plugin removegrain after resizing:

This one I think looks best, but I'm worried about loss of detail. What do you guys think?
