This year a bunch of my amv buddies quit for theire own reasons and that makes me sad.
Everybody has to know when to quit. I would say you should quit when it´s no fun anymore or something you don´t enjoy anymore. Anyway before you quit you should ask yourself why you lost the joy. Maybe you get it back if you just go to your own roots or just lower your personal bar.

Did I seriously consider to quit? I don´t know, but I don´t think so. I always do some things beside amvs, that´s why I often need extra time to finish something. It´s good to get down a bit with gameing and other various things. It´s like DTJB said too: I have just too many ideas I want to see done before I can quit :P

I think somebody shouldn´t push himself too hard and should do other things beside this hobby too. :)

I'll quit when it stops being fun for me. Simple as that. :P

I quit when I realized I wasn't going to be a skilled editor. I had no desire to push my editing abilities. I much preferred to have a good concept, and create a story. But I wasn't getting any ideas, and pushing myself to edit was no fun at all. I'm happy to have made one good video, and I still feel bad about the loss of a creative outlet. I often wish I still enjoyed anime and liked to edit, and maybe someday I'll throw something together again. I actually did have a final video, although it wasn't at the time. It woke me to the reason that I edited, and it seemed that I no longer had that reason.

I dunno when I'll quit, but it'll happen when it happens. Preferably at the right time.

I could never commit myself to something so absolute as a "final" video or flat out quiting. If you don't feel like editing, then just sit back, watch some other peoples amvs, and just chill. Then if you ever get sudden insparation, just jump up, pop open the editor and get to work. Just edit when you feel like it, there doesn't have to be a specific endpoint.

In 2003, after spending 8 months on The Haunted Ship and not really liking the final result, I felt like quitting since it was the 50th video I made and thought it would be a good number to quit at.

Then I still remembered that I still had a track on the NES Project to do and that encouraged me to continue editing.
