3d mixed with anime: Thoughts?

Post by ForeverZeroo » Sun Aug 17, 2008 6:49 pm

Im currently making a list of many many animes to stick into one video. I have advent children and all that stuff mixed with normal anime.

i know it bothers some people to mix them both, what are your thoughts

If your sources are jarringly different, part of your concept should involve the fact that they are jarringly different. People are going to focus on that. If that's what you intended, then you're fine, if not, it's hit or miss.

if all else fails, use something like geisters or divergence eve to tie in the 3d and 2-d stuff.

You'll be cursing the moment you decided to watch either (or, god help you, both) but they both have 2d and 3d scenes intermixed (geisters actually has scenes with 2d characters and 3d monsters at the same time)

If done right, it can work very well...

i think that if its just one 3-d source then it sticks out like a sore thumb but if you have several mixed in there it might work out better.

Yeah, that is hit or miss.

It all lies in your execution. Someone will surely be a cockbyte and say 'it's unoriginal' but don't let them get to you. Nothing's sacred these days... lol

I'd say go with Bashar's idea and purposely jar the vid using 3d vs. 2d. If it's good, nobody will care anyway, as was said ^_^
