Yeah, I'm quite eclectic, so do write alot of styles of music. On the album you'll hear folk, folk-rock (janis), rock, soul (like Al Green), classic rock (early Led Zep apparently), hippy, ballady, pop, funk and a hint of country (in the first song, because of the slide guitar). Songs off the album are blues, jazz etc. I don't listen to any one type of music, so find it hard to just write one type. The album was all recorded live in the studio btw, in 1 - 3 takes, and no editing. What you hear is what we gave.
I agree with Bashar that it is profiting for me in some way. If people like the video and like the music then people hear about me, which is promotional. If the video were all original artwork, then I could pay some money and also sell it on sellaband.com and iTunes for $1 each, with the artists getting 1/3rd of the profits. Another band (Second Person) do exactly that with a video/song called 'Wood' (check it out on you know where as well
But, it is also profiting for the amv'er, as they increase their exposure as an artist/editor (and yes, I do believe it takes skill to be a music video editor.... no matter where the footage comes from). So it's a two-way street really.
Love to all
