I've heard a few people mention videos they liked, but I can't speak for myself yet because I'm still waiting on the discs.Sephiroth wrote:I can't decide i like so far anyone else got a vids that they really liked.

I suppose it says a lot that I'd have to go check what number my own video was but #23 stood out as good enough to actually note it's number. Too much camera motion to be a really great video but certainly the best of the Pro vids. Sadly that's the only one that really stood out for me, the rest were a range from pure crap to 'eh, it's ok I guess'.
Since we suggest categories there's no reason to stick with the traditional ones. So those that don't fit common groups can still get recognition as long as enough of us decide they should. I suggest the following categories:
- 5cm video that took the longest before boring you to sleep
- Use of hypnotoad most likely to make you want to repeatedly crotch kick the editor
- Most blatant abuse of After Effects
- Most obviously slapped together piece of crap just so someone could claim they're in the contest and get the pro discs
- Dumbest rant in the an AWA thread
I also suggest that this year we actively skip comedy. There were no funny videos, why bother pretending?

I agree with Godix on #23. I had seen it already through other contests, so it was no surprise. It is a good video and really stands out, particularly as being one of the parade of Shinkai spam, but to be honest the camera motion was a bit much to the point where I was starting to get the same motion sick feeling I get when I play fps games. That is a little problematic.
I really like the vid, but I think it is a good example of what happens when synch beat gets a little excessive. Still easily the best vid at least from the first 2 disks.

Dude... stop whining. A lot of the editors IN the damn contest are saying the same thing in that the vids are simply lackluster. If you enjoy it more than most, then great. Get over it and stop your own bitching and moaning. But people will speak, both good and bad and neither is more valuable than the other.Sephiroth wrote:i just realized how infectious your hate and loathing is Godix.
before anyone else gets side tracked by hate
Lets stick with the topic of what videos are good and more importantly for what reasons.
Vlad can tell you.... when I judge videos, even those that are rather decent, my comments can be a bit, interesting. But I watch every video multiple times to gague how I feel about them.
Besides, feeding Godix never solves anything. He will continue to act as he does.
Jeeze... and here I thought with Brakus behaving that we would have minimal whining in the thread this year.
