Quick bump back to the top and a public service announcement: I know it kinda sucks that the submission deadline is on a Friday. We'd like to give you the weekend to polish (or even finish)your entries but it screws up our judging process. As a result we've got a slight compromise.
Any video you plan to enter into the contest must be registered on the website (http://www.awa-vat.org) by the end of Friday night. Mailed submissions must also make it to me by the end of that day. Ftp upload requests made on that Friday and through Saturday morning will be honored, but I will (fun fun) be inaccessible and at the judging sessions beyond that point so get them in whether or not you're actually ready to upload at that exact moment. You will have until midnight Sunday to complete your uploads.
If you anticipate NOT being able to complete your upload by that time, contact me immediately at vattechnical@gmail.com. We are open to extensions on a case by case basis, but they all must be approved ahead of time and you still MUST register your video on the site by the above Friday deadline.
[edit] To clarify: How can you judge on Saturday if stuff is still uploading through Sunday night? Cause we've got a LOT of videos. We watch what has already been submitted before the deadline on the weekend of the deadline. This is the second weekend of judging (we've already had one last weekend), and there will likely be a third. We must freeze the entry list on Friday night so we can get our internal documentation into order and we'll judge whatever we have on hand. It all gets watched by the end though, and everything's given a fair chance regardless of which day it gets viewed on. It's a bit of a crazy system, but we've gone through it enough times that it works, even if there's some details to it you're not seeing above.

Pretty sure I jinxxed myself with that ftp post earlier...
Due to issues with our server, ftp upload accounts are no longer available. Online submissions are still possible, please email me for details. Alternatively mail in submissions are still possible. Due to this last minute change, any such package post marked by this Saturday will be accepted.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah I just noticed that after giving my entry infor for one of my expo entries; nearly made me panic since my con copy of one of my other entry will be rendered tonight; top off living at the other end of the country and I got really concerned about my entries making it without paying for overnight postage.

Finally finished up on the wife's video / clean up... so don't think I will have a video done unless is it 08/15/08 11:59 PM Pacific Time zone (lol 2 extra hours).
Seeing that I just started it the other night eh I will at least try to finish it and pray it won't suck horribly.
...so I was just going to upload the wife's video and no FTP? I assume I can upload it to my server and supply the url?

I wasn't surewhere to send the e-mail since I wasn't sure if it goes to you, Matt or the VAT. I contacted Matt but what is the procedure for online submissions now? I won't be able to get to a post office with my videos in time due to this.
