FTP Server down?

I am trying to re-upload a video after a made it a bit smaller with a different compression. However, after getting the permission to do so, when I load up my Filezilla FTP client and enter in the site, ID and password it establishes a connection to the server but then times out and I get nothing out of it...

Any ideas? or is the server just down?

gotta cover the basics first.

are you trying passive mode?
have you disabled any firewall you may have?

I also did disable the firewall. What is strange is that I have uploaded before but now I can't for whatever reason...

before when I uploaded I did have the firewall ON though...
