I'm getting worse. I used to be like this. Watching amvs is starting to mean searching across multiple random folders. It's like an scavenger hunt now

By genre. If I really like it though, I'll just shoot them to the desktop for simplicity.

I like to be organized like that.

I suppose I could have broken it down further in explanation.

Series is the most important to me, because it's is the first thing I think of when looking for a video. Often I get into series specific moods, rather than genre specific moods. So I'll, say, get into an Utena mood, like I'm in right now, and I will watch every Utena video I have - in chronological order.

That's where year comes in. I also judge the worth of a video on a year based sliding scale; the older it is the more slack I cut it. Futhermore, it helps me watch the stylistic and technological changes from year to year, which is quite fascinating. I'd have to say that year is almost as important as series or more important. They are both more important than anything else that comes after.

Then I put studio and editor for attribution purposes. I don't really follow editors, and I keep anything I like, but I believe in giving credit, and I also like to be able to answer, "hey who made such and such video back in 2002" especially for older videos. I also would want my videos formatted this way, so even if no one does, it's a golden rule type of thing I do.

Much the same with title. The editor spent time coming up with a title, and that title should be respected. Lopping it off isn't very nice, in my opinion. So I always include title.

What I do not care about is audio. I do not view AMVs through an audio lens. Rather, again, I view AMVs based on series. There are even AMVs I love which use audio I could never, ever stand to listen to on its own. So including the song or artist would do me no good.

I also only delete pure and total crap. I keep a lot of stuff.

if i do keep them i throw them into a folder and burn them to disc, if i really really really like them i keep them on the external of awesomeness O.O so i can watch them whenever I want''' and i have an extensive folder system for my own actual videos... (for the various formats and such, distro, convention, lossless etc.)

I put them in my "amv" folder.

When it hits 4.7 gb, it goes to a dvd and gets deleted for new videos.

It's been 3 years since I did that so that should tell you how many videos I download a year..
