This is a really strange problem I have, and I haven't seen any duplicate occurrences after looking around the net. So before I resort to trying a complete reinstall I wanted to see if there were any other options to check out.
Basically, my Timeline window is refusing to take on any actual sequences. The dropdown tab I'd use for adding them is completely greyed out, taking out that option. My starting project settings are at default so it should give me three video tracks and an audio track off the bat, but isn't following through.
Importing is fine. I can import video and audio and preview them just fine. The only problem is actually taking them to the timeline. I've used Premiere Pro successfully before but this is my first time trying out CS3 and it's giving me this little snag.
Any help or input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I had a similar problem when I tried importing an old premiere pro 1.5 project into CS3. The timeline window was there, but no actual timelines were present. So i had to go to "file"-->"new"--->"sequences". From there, I was able to drag the sequence of my old project onto the timeline and edit it from there.
Now if the "file" option is grayed out, then I don't know what to tell you.
