When people link your videos....

The only reason I found Youtube in the first place was because I had someone email me about someone stealing my AMVs.

I went to Youtube and Sure enough, they were right! Someone took both my Pretty Fly for Battousai and Mahoro's Struggle AMV and put their own credits at the end. Then when I commented about it, they at first lashed out back at me that I was lying, only to apologize later. I decided to make my own account over on Youtube after that. I still see people claiming my videos from time to time on Youtube.

I also got this comment on my Excel Saga AMV:

I love this song and this AMV but I do know for a FACT that you didn't make this AMV! ¬.¬

A while ago on YouTube someone ((Can't remember their username)) made this and people kep copying and copying it, one of which was you. Then YouTube deleted them all, including the original and left yours since they on;y wanted one copy of this up and not hundreads. This is what happens to a lot of original videos.

Shit - happens and you deal with it =| Granted those aren't the only ones, just the ones that relate to the last video I did. And honestly? I don't care all that much for that video either so its all good.

Straight up video ripping on the tube doesn't happen to me all that much though. The rare occasion of PX or Ikasu being ripped can be counted on 1 hand every month. Or maybe I just don't know how to search the interwebs properly who knows.

Wow. Mhmm, the tube is something... But when people start ripping stuff and putting it on here. That amazes me.

I found out about the tube when a kid emailed me to tell me she liked my video... back then there were only like 10 fruits basket videos on the tube

This isn't stealing, but it did cause me to do double take:

I found hits on my UToob channel coming from a foreign site with many links to various AMVs and, upon investigation, discovered someone created a listing for me/my video and linked to my channel. Ok, fine, it happens, it's in another language, I can't do or say anything, it's actually kind of an honor...but then I noticed that they kept updating the video info every time some more details on it were available...often before I'd update the details on my OWN video (anywhere).

It's like they were stalking my AMV. @_@

They seem to have slacked off, recently, though. hehe

In terms of people stealing my amvs..happens quite abit, I either see people ripping clips from my videos, or uploading my videos without credits and claiming they made it and so on. It happens, I don't care all that much, being as anybody with a brain will be able to tell who really made the video.

I've had people step it up more than that though...atleast 3 or 4 times I've had people pretending to be me, using my name, and once I even had a guy trying to say he created and was the head of my studio o_O

i didnt found some of my videos which would be stolen. But i am not the best, so i dont stole the videos by myself if someone other made them XD

I'd have to say my favourite theft was a Kingdom Hearts video using my audio mix for Psychosomasis. However, it was recorded (via handycam, presumaby) off playback from a TV, thus achieving the seemingly impossible by making the quality even worse than standard Tube stuff. Also, audio was credited as:

Artist: Kristyrat
Song: Psychosomasis.
