The first can be had by clicking the AMV Salad banner below. AMV Salad 2 won't be released to the public until after the Otakon premiere. Furthermore, when it does come out, it will not be available for download until the release of AMV Salad 3...

UPDATE:

...meh, there won't be a AMV Salad panel at Otakon. Apparently, the application (which I sent months ago) was eated by their spam filter. Go figure. Anyway, they can't just throw me into the schedule at this point so whatever.

At least we still have the premiere of AMV Salad 2. I hope it is placed in the same "pre-show" time as last year (before fan parodies).

By the way, I should have mentioned this before. I did something sadistic and evil with the closing credits. You have to endure the entire thing to reach the punch line. And even if you think you know what it is, you'll be wrong. ;) Is anyone here going to attend Otakon?

UPDATE:

Well,...not much to report except that I have Anime Weekend Atlanta talking about placing both Salads somewhere in late-night video programming. Any exposure is better than none, I guess.

Here's the new thread for AMV Salad 3: Three Bean Casserole to get people thinking. I'll post the specs and the theme for this year's MEP.

Who among you will be at Otakon for the premiere of the second Salad?

If I'm going this year, it is because I'll be working in the dealers room, but I'm not sure. At the very least someone from my store will be there.
And I thought nobody read these.

I work for F.Y.E. I'm a manager, so the only way I get to go anywhere is if I'm recruited.

AMVS2 was about 45 minutes into the parodies (after Dr. Tran, AMV Champloo, VG Spoofs (awful and not even amusing), and various other things). There was a good number of people there and the response was actually better than for the last Salad. I'll go through the highlights later but count on many more reports like this when it plays for future cons...

We have to wait a whole year?!

Post by WallaceM » Sat Aug 16, 2008 11:12 pm

Dude, Amv Salad was the second best part of otakon for me this year and I keep telling the people who couldn't make it due to sickness or shellout falter how awesome it was and I can't show it to them? damn. can I mail someone a blank vhs like in the old days or something? You all did great this year and I wanted to show some of the old guard around here that new fandom has something awesome to provide besides underaged catgirls. ah well... I anxiously await next years otakon for yet another reason. Good work all of you.
