A .MP4 conversion problem.
I have a video file that I want to convert to .AVI, but I'm on a mac, so VirtualDubMod is out of the question. Are there any Mac friendly video conversion apps out there?

If you have the DivX codec installed, then yes, you can open the MP4 in Final Cut, wait for it to render it to whatever (DV, Apple Intermediate Codec, whatever), and then export it out as a DivX AVI.
However, it might be simpler to open it in either MPEG Streamclip ( http://www.squared5.com ), ffmpegX ( http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ ), Avidemux ( http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/ ) or VisualHub ( http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/ ). Though I am not sure if VisualHub has fixed its aspect ratio problem for DivX AVIs yet (they'll keep the correct aspect ratio in some media players, but not in others).
I'd recommend that you download and test all these other Mac conversion programs and see which ones work for you. I have them all, and use one app for one purpose and another app for another purpose. I think they're all pretty good.
