sony vegas 8.0 help?

well i'm new and i kno that this is most likely a topic up here but is there anyway that i can convert downloads to work in sony vegas 8?like some sort of program i can download or something?is it in the program it's self?i started using hypercam 2 but i don't feel like watching all the downloaded videos over again so any1 kno anything plz i need help here
