You quote other people by pressing the little "Quote" button on the top right of their post.

And don't be a bloody pirate; just find a cheap place to get the software. (Link courtesy of JaddziaDax.)

$120 is actually rather cheap for a program that actually costs about $1000

Get a job. Mow lawns, sell lemonade.

I bought my mac with final cut pro with proceeds from working at a movie theatre during college.

No sympathy.

And read the sticky.

You have not yet entered the world if you think $120 is expensive for anything pertaining to video editing. Typical student pricing for that is about $300 while actual retail pricing is about $550.

And don't even get me started on Adobe bundles, Final Cut bundles, or (heaven forbid) Avid.

Like was stated, go mow a lawn or something. A little bit of work isn't going to kill you.

(Another suggestive comment that should've gone in my last post.)

You could also do what I did and make the software pay for itself. I've done several freelance video editing jobs. I charged $35/hour and that's on the cheap end for this kind of thing.

Freelancing FTW.

haha, trust me...getting a job was the first thing that came to mind. But i have no time. Not only do i train for Cross Country and Wrestling but i also got to go to the gym every day too. Unless i could work for 2 hours at a place (which i highly doubt) there is no hope for a job. And what are freelance video editing jobs anyways? sound kinda interesting.

Where I started working actually did have me working about 2 hours each day. Any place almost has to if they hire you at 13 or 14, because of child labour laws.

My first job was 2 hours a day as well (video production at a local church), five days a week right after school.
Dictionary wrote:Freelance:

Also, freelancer. a person who works as a writer, designer, performer, or the like, selling work or services by the hour, day, job, etc., rather than working on a regular salary basis for one employer.
Basically, you are your own business, and you sell your services to whatever client wants them. For example, for one of my early freelance jobs, I was hired by a local public school to film their 6th grade musical and then produce a DVD of it for the school to sell to the parents. Since it was one of my earliest ventures, I did the work for cheap and charged them $27/hour. 19 hours later I was $513 richer.
