2x POST: Silent Hill 4 & Frog SPEEEEEEEED

It was okay for a quickie. Editing and effects were pretty good, and the video fit the music... but imo, after the entire five minutes, it didn't feel like a whole lot happened... maybe because I haven't played the game. Still,

that game was too creepy for me to finish, especially after I had read spoilers that all you do at the end is running away with a time limit...that is like extra creepy ._.

anyways, good mood and interesting story
the typography looked way out of place though

and yeah, this is def horror not just drama, too many people dying in their own blood and monsters screaming at the viewer for it to be more drama than horror ;|

Certainly 4 is not the best in the silent hill series but it wasnt bad either!

Anyway to the vid: I assume you recorded your footage from the PC version cause i highly doubt the console versions support HD. I could tell the quality difference between in game and fmv sequences.
The Video catched the mood of the game pretty good and it was more drama than horror. The video gave me the feeling the game gave me again... You are alone and you probably aimed for that.
This is a really good video, every fan of SH should get it.
This video will remain in my collection x] GMVs are always highly welcome! And btw kudos for HD version i was actually surprised to see SH4 in such a high resolution.

This is the PC version, and yes the consoles do not support HD. It's interesting because some of the cinematiques in Silent Hill 4 are purposely degraded in quality, despite still being in 720p. The feeling of isolation and loneliness is one of my favorite aspects of the Silent Hill franchise, and I don't seem to find many Silent Hill videos that portray that mood.
The best Silent Hill video that I've so far seen portrayed is Kamoc's Broken Psalm.

Yet another Silent Hill geek spotted here.

That was really neat Serv0 for the amount of time spent on it.I cleared Silent Hill 4 about a month ago so it's still fresh in my memory.Pretty cool and though it has deviated from the earlier games,I found it quite refreshing.

As for the vid,it started really slowly building the climax but as soon the music reached high,it became really good.And all these 1s...

4/5 and nice inspiration!!

ps:The quality of the vid was top notch while compared to the quality of the game.Why did we get a downgraded version in pc,dammit?

I didn't like that new bit with the text flashing around

but the rest of it puts me in mind of a frenzied orgy of amphibian awesomeness.

Yep. Straight from the PC version itself. I guess one of my qualms with the PC game though, is the max resolution goes up only to 1024 x 768. Damn KONAMI can't take into consideration of us who have 1280x1024.

To tell you in honest truth, there's quite a bit of footage that I left out. The problem though is I can't exactly show much without introducing the other characters in 4. Often, I find "Less is More" to be a useful visual tool.

The final boss fight involves a bit of thinking, in order for you to actually beat it properly. So a lot of tension does go into the game play, especially with that ticking clock during the battle.
It's funny that you mention the typography being out of place. Because that's the same font style as one of the Silent Hill titles.

Here's a suggestion. There are only 5 swords throughout the entire game, and I would use them on the last 5 Sacrificed Victims. Especially the ghost of Jasper Gein.

Thanks Sempai. Glad you liked it. 4 is a bit different from the previous titles, but it did have that strong build up of creepiness.
