She wants Revenge: A little blue gender love story.

Heh and I didn't realize till I was typing the topic title just how much the band's name goes with this little twisted take on dysfunctional love. The best Second Earth has to offer. Call it Romance(?)

***MATURE CONTENT WARNING***

This one was a bit too racy for direct hosting between a bit of blood and the softcore romping going on. More skinimax then hentai, but you've been warned. That said onto the vid! And remember kids, this is why you don't piss off the girl you're dating. :P

In any case young babies are easy, say compared to a mobile two year old. AKA a compact engine of apocolyptic destruction.

Basically you grabbed scenes that are too literal and stacked them together without any thought of progression?

Ugh.. 4.5/10

I actually did find progression there, and the visual/song do sort of match, but beyond that... I have to say this definitely didn't do well in terms of basic pacing and timing. I'm not as worried about 'literal' as I am about the fact it doesn't flow too well. Sure the song isn't the fastest thing ever, but it's very even and steady-paced, whereas the video certainly isn't.
So that's the area I'd work on more.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I enjoyed the anime/song combination, because it definitally seemed to work well together, but I was missing any type of synch in the video :(

Honestly though, I don't see any reason why this should be considered 'too hot for local' :?

The Audio and Visual quality was excellent and couldnt have gotten any better.
The visual and the song match on almost all occassions but I can see Niotex's point that you tried to find as many literal visuals to relate to the song and squeeze into the video.

I thought there was some progression at the start but it soon became a mish-mash of literal visual and intimate scenes.
Essentially the song was telling a story that your video didnt really capture.

But honestly I thought it was a pretty good effort at least, no subtitles or grainy footage.

not on Local [it might have been alright...idk]
therefore now I can't leave a Quick Comment,
so I'll leave this here: Compress your Audio

About the video, it was very monotone, which made watching the video rather uninteresting; But it worked well with the music-- so that's an accomplishment... it just makes it hard to say anything about the video itself.

Regarding racyness (or not) so it would be safe for local hosting? I'd like to do so just for the comment factor, since you can't on indirect links.

The story I tried to tell, if a bit unsuccesfully it seems, Yuji is a cheating bastard, Alisha is an insane boy killer, and Marlene just hates everyone, kills them all, then sleeps around to try and get over it. Plot summary in a nutshell, not just an attempt to use filler relationship clips, heh though it did kinda turn out that way didn't it? =p

Regarding jerkiness and timing. Timing I tried to do clips to lyrics or to the background drumbeats. Looking back perhaps not the best choice, the other things stand out a bit better in the audio.

The way things kinda jerk around, well personal quirk and style choice more then unintentional "bad" editing, I just loved the way some things seemed to jump from "reality" to "fantasy" Specificaly at 0:55 and 2:08 so I ran with it.

Looking at the audio link too, one thing I don't get about the skimming I did before work, it's converting the music file to mp3 for compression right? But I thought that mp3 useage (when editing within a program like premiere) was a bad idea and actually hurt the audio quality? it's why I always convert any music I have to .wav, then edit with that.

But also thank you all for the feedback, least the ones who took the time to be constructive about it anyway. To certain others I guess I could say would you rather I just took a bunch of random clips of everyone getting killed and used that instead? Non literal enough then? [/snappy]

That's the one big thing I'll admit I'm rather confused by cause I get you're saying I'm being too literal, what I don't fully understand is the how? Ok yes it's all relationship clips, but that was the point of the song and the amv I wanted to make. And yes things like the hands at 1:31 pretty much are the song lyrics. What I'm at a loss to figure out is if not that, what clip would I have used instead?

Just not quite sure I get it, cause I read the comments that it's too literal. Then I go and watch something like "be a man" (by far one of the best vids showed at animazement 2008) And think to myself. "Fire in lyrics, fire on screen, typhoon in lyrics, typhoon on screen, mysterious as the dark side of the moon, and yep there's the moon." so on so forth, a lot of the scene selections there seem pretty literal to the lyrics, least to me. Yet that one's an award winner. So..am I making any sense here? A little clarifying or extra advice would be most appreciated.

Yes, that's right. Never edit with the wav. However, for distribution purposes, PCM/wav audio has a rather large file size, so it is preferred to have the mp3 [the original if possible] version of your audio muxed with your final file instead.

When comparing the literal sync here to something like "be a man," keep in mind that that video is a comedy, and also has a lot of lip sync. When those things come together purposefully in such an exact manner, it becomes almost absurd... a novelty [that's the second time I've used this word today]. With the seriousness of your video, it's hard to tell what it does. I can tell you it left me with a very eerie feeling, but it seems like it should have amounted to some greater story; more progression as others have stated, because the underlying plot of this video was somehow lost. Storytelling is probably the hardest thing to do in an amv, especially when you are also concerned with things like beat sync, internal/motion sync, etc... in your case literal sync, which is a restriction of using this song. Anyways, that's just what I think. ;)
