Off beat scenes, too many white dissolves, argh...

Haha, yeah that sums it up! I can't even watch the one I made right now. "D'oh! Should've timed that better! Gah! Should've used a different clip! It's no good, it's all horrible!" Hindsight's such a wonderful thing...*sigh*

...is it bad, though, that part of me is really glad I'm not the only one that thinks these things?

Yeah, my bf decided we should take a 2 week vacation to visit his family. . .and that this would take place 3 weeks before the deadline. :? Which left me a week when we got back to finish my vid. So yeah, I didn't get to fix everything I needed to. (Synching issues, quality issues, that one clip that just didn't look right.) So yeah. Watching it later, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought at the time, but I still don't think it looks good enough to make finals. *shrug* But eh, what can you do? Now I know, if I happen to do a really good vid at some point during the year to stash it away so I have it in case I run into something like this again. Anyway, good luck everyone! *^_^*

Right back at ya!

As I look at my video weeks later since it's finished, it definitely gives me a different feeling than before. I'm more pleased with v 2.0 that I submitted than 1.0 that's on poo-on-you.tube, but perhaps we're all just our biggest critics?

I agree, we ourselves are our biggest critic... I think mine is utter blahness....

(If anyone wants to see, it's on the same "poo-on-you.tube" too. XD)

My timeline:
2 hours - Looks at watch. Dreads another six hours of cutting out the chaff from the wheat.

4 hours - Halfway there. Can we fast forward through this one?

6 hours - Oh gods make the pain stop!

8 hours - Did anybody even score anything above a "2"?

Tom Servo: Oh, they're flying into a Roger Dean album cover.
Crow T. Robot: They're very into Yes on this planet.

Seriously though, is the rating out of 5 or 10 for this screening? :?:

Pre-Screening (King of Prussia, PA)

Post by dji » Wed Jun 25, 2008 2:51 am

Okay... traditionally for the last several years there's been a pre-screening at my place in King of Prussia, PA.

There's a limited amount of space, so if you're interested in attending on July 5th, send me a message via the board.

We will be watching all 8 hours on July 5th, starting at 10am.

Sorry for keeping this short. There's not much to say.

July 5th, 10am, 8 hours of AMVs. Limited space. Outside of Philadelphia, PA.

PM me if you're interested.

I think watching AMV pre-screenings like this is sorta like the Eurovision Song Contest. At least half of the contest is ghastly enough to make the viewer stab their eye sockets with a rusty sppon. :-)
