Sony Vegas 8 Pro help!

Hey guys!

I have Sony Vegas 8 Pro and I was wondering how you do some effects.

I was wondering how I do the effect from.
0:36 to 0:39
and
1:03 to 1:04

that is just an overlay with some masking...

what you do is cut out the character with the masking tool, frame by frame, then overlay that on the line above the other part.
