LOL, ok, I'm blind. Sorry about that. I just saw the $ sign and assumed too much.Cardinal.jpg wrote:I went to a little place called Australia, you may have heard of it, it has a shit exchange rate so stuff sounds like it costs more but in reality it doesnt.

Lets see, I get paid every two weeks...so about 5 every two weeks...but not anymore...moving out, moving Nicole here, need food, gas, etc. etc.
Even though I love CD shopping, and looking for new music..sadly...I need to stop

I go through phases, but I'm always getting enw music. For 6 months i didn't buy one album, I was flat broke, pirated atons though. Now I'm buying about 4 albums a week, paying for some of the stuff i pirated little by little, and getting some new stuff at the same time. Whether or not I pay, which I will eventualy such as now, I rake in about 8 - 12 albums a month

Thats what I'm talking about, I just go crazy when in a record shop and can get anything, I never pirate so I always end up buying a shit heap of CDs to make up for it. Its kind of wierd now though because I only listen to one album anymore, once I buy a CD I'll give it a few spins then leave in my collection to gather dust.

I download a few songs from a band that I've heard of, for example in a video, and then if I like the songs, the CD(s) is/are added to my wishlist. I've currently got a Nightwish CD on my list (Forget the title of the CD, it's the one with 10th Man Down on it) and Reveille - Bleed the Sky on the list.

Well most people dont but I try an not become a slave to the piracy ring that has evolved and although I know the bands don't see much of the royaltiesthey see more than if I get the music straight off the net. I know its a pretty ancient ethic to pay for art but I still like to stick to it.[/quote]funny .. i didnt think anyone actually bought cds anymore.

Not all bands are rich, they depend on cd sales and even then don't get much profit. There are percentages that go to everyone that helped in any way at all. I personaly know most all of the bands I buy from, and like supporting them, they deserve it. Mainly every single band under drive-thru records.
Also I have a great cd binder, looks pretty badass. I like having the actual discs, and the cd books. You also get extras, like music videos, bonus tracks, and clear crisp music when you don't pirate. I make all my mix cds off of ripped .wavs, not downloaded .mp3s The music sounds so much better when you do this it's not even funny.
