Banner frame?

I was wondering about it for some time...

The banner in the header of A-M-V.org has red frame. BUT the previews in the voting place do not. Why is it so?
Basically, if you consider your banner will have red frame and include it in the making your banner (and leaving frame out), the banner will have optical disadvantage in the poll, because the banners with frames seem more compact there.

I am not saying it's unfair or such, but it's just that it struck me and I wanted to throw the question up.

I think it's been mentioned to me via aim before but for the most part I didn't really worry about the frame on the banner after it's been worthy... if i want to add a frame then I will.

I'm just saying that when I made banners I never took into account that it was going to have a border on the main page when it is worthy. I just added borders if I felt like adding borders. I'm talking from the view of someone who makes banners..

When it was brought up to me on aim, my friend said that if a banner became worthy it would have a border anyways, so there was no point in adding a border to the image i made, and I said that I just wanted to put the border there anyways...

I'm not really sure what you mean by not adding a border in the voting arena gives the banners there "an optical disadvantage" as several worthy banners don't have borders and several do.

Well, I said it's only an opinion (in fact I have my banners almost exactly half to half with and without banners)

It just seems weird to me that people are voting something they will never see precisely same ^^;;
Ummm... I hope this is as close to what I wanted to say ^^;;;;;

yea i figured the red border on the main page was just there to blend with the layout O.o I never put too much thought into it...

I haven't been inspired to make any banners in ages O.o
