Blue gender's ending, just a little bit off? weird?

Saw some on cartoon network, but never managed to see the second half so I bought the boxset at AZ this year. Just got around to finishing it, and the later episodes really having me going ummm?

Still like the series even if the plot is a bit heavy handed regarding Yuji and Marlene. but episode 26....
Spoiler wrote:Yuji has some kinda vision thing, he and marlene look to live happily ever after. But then the entire population of second earth goes nutso and blows the station? Ok now I know Seno was a complete and utter jerk, and I can kinda see why they did it.
But it really doesn't seem to have much rhyme or reason, and is kinda tacked on to the end of the episode. Kinda wish they took the time to add a little more resolution, or some kind of explanation here.
In any case young babies are easy, say compared to a mobile two year old. AKA a compact engine of apocolyptic destruction.

Yep I have to say I've watched a few too many shows where it was clear the author had a great idea for a story, but couldn't figure out a resolution for the plot, so just added "whatever".

And as a result, a lot of shows end up just ending as if unplanned or out of the blue.
Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.
