Problems rendering in Vegas Studio...

Post by Moochi » Sun Jun 15, 2008 2:05 am

Everytime I render my amv to Huffyuv avi.

The video becomes.....not good.

I can't even play it because it freezes every few seconds.

What's the problem, anyone?

Maybe your computer can't keep up with the amount of data being processed?

Well, I rendered another video a day before and it came out perfectly.

But when I tried it again, it won't play.

lol. It's supposed to be like that, it's a lossless file.

You gotta compress it.

Some lossless videos will play fine, some won't. The amount of data and processing each video requires depends completely on the video source. A video with little action will be easier to play than an all action AMV. As suggested, try converting your uncompressed to XviD if you just want to watch it all the way through as a preview.

See, I want to send it into an amv contest to a con.

So I edited it with avisynth, then loaded it into Vegas and when I was done with it saved back out to the huffyuv..thing.

So how do I compress it or whatever?

You follow this guide:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/xvid.html

This assumes you have the AMVapp installed, or at least Xvid, LAME MP3 and Virtualdub. The main guide is here:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/

That will get you compressing to XviD, but if it's for a con, you will need to check which formats they accept. A lot only used to accept MPG, but some will take WMV, and I expect that some will now take XviD too, or maybe even MP4. In that case the main guide should cover you still.
